This is the first in-depth video about the current state of Destiny 2, as of Episode Revenant. This video is all about the core PvE activities in the game: Strikes, Vanguard Ops, and Seasonal/Episodic Activities. These playlists should be the standard content that any Destiny player logs in to experience, but there are some issues. TFS wasn't peak Destiny, both TTK and Forsaken shit all over TFS.
If your inside the room 1. Kill knights and pick up the shape. 2. Give the shape to the matching gaurdian until your back wall only shows 2 of your shape that the gaurdian is holding 3. The witness will notice and fake kill everyone and the outside 3 must get your ghost and match it to the gaurdian 4. Give one of each of your shape to the two opposite gaurdians 5. This will mean you have the 2 opposite shapes to you pick both up and leave. Easy as that
Anyone else check on the d2 population count just to laugh. Love this game and miss this game but let it die so we can have d3 with a new engine. Leave bungie in time out until they learn their lesson.
I would love to hear what you’re hopeful about regarding the content roadmap.

I know this is older video but you nail something thats been on my mind about the core playlist in general not saying it needs to be the same but having similar experience for players per what experience they wish to engage with would be great. The idea is that vanguard, crucible, and gambit would have mode that fit into these categories: casual, competitive/hard mode, pinnacle (trials), and event (iron banner)
Loot wise aberrant action was a vantasic weapon.
Onslaught was fast and fun auto group finding
Titan problem what your thoughts.

Same problem With alone in dark ghost hunt
Tonic stuff dumb no one ever wants to do gather missions.
Strikes are faster reasonable time wise sadly there only feels like there is only 5. Auto match making amazing. Dungeon would be cool if they didn't take for ever solo and had auto match making same problem with exotic missions.
Honestly i loved strikes in destiny 1 i just wanted each expansion to give us like 5 new strikes.. battle grounds while fun at times dont have the same feel to it.. they feel a little cheaper like someone added alot of ai in forge.. and dont get me started on vaulting strikes
A lot of people are leaving before Frontiers drops. There have been no major overhauls for it to be worth investing any further in.
I personally hate battlegrounds in the strike playlist. They need to remove it.
I stopped playing because stuff outside of vanguard is getting too difficult.
First and formost: delete liminality from existance, i dont want any evidence of its existence, make a new grandmaster from one of the final shape misons, then grandmasters will be much more fun
I want new strikes, D1 strikes, and old D2 strikes with nightfall special loot that also is good and not slop weapons that will retain dust in the vault also I want ships sparrows armor etc just something

They could do something like Division 2 where they use the same strike environment while using a different faction as a sort of remix, Division 2 had the black tusk faction appear in the variants, Destiny could easily make the Dread enemies appear to add more to the encounters, maybe offer some better loot in these variants too
I hate that the old battle grounds are in the Vanguard playlist, to me they’re not fun. And I dislike that they keep reworking all the good strikes to make then linger and less fun

Only thing for the activity progress is that the raids nor dungeons are not under vanguard. Maybe we need another
Battlegrounds are garbage, they should never ever make it to the strikes playlist or nightfall
I feel like the solution for this is literally just making a rogue-like activity. Like, imagine getting to choose specific buffs and debuffs after completing a segment. A combination of The Coil, Onslaught, and Deep Dives, but collectively intensified, so that every run is a completely different experience.
Deep dives are a masterclass of activity design because you could have 3 people who all want to do a different thing in one session: The person that is doing a normal run, the person who wants to activate the harder mode and that random guy that wants to do the exotic path. Plenty of frustration there.
Seems like they learned from that in building Tomb of Elders and Onslaught. You select which version you want to run through: 10 round Onslaught / 50 round, Challenge of Elders / Tomb of Elders, all based around how difficult and rewarding you want it to be. The Exotic mission was them trying to recapture that mystery and aura of Whisper of the Worm’s start and really people should’ve used fireteam finder to select that as an option and find a team to do it, but that’s something they can learn from Deep Dives. They gave us options to change the activity which was great and have learned that giving us those options before matchmaking is better.
5:38 hunters: the best melee class 😂
Strikes MUST look like this: Start -> Branch 1/2/3 -> mid arena with some activity (option 1/2/3) -> Branch 4/5/6 -> Final arena boss Each time you load the strike you just need to randomize branches 1/2/3 and 4/5/6, then the mid arena activity so you get WAY more variation.
I like that a lot, unfortunately I can already imagine a bunch of players whining cause the activities aren't 100% predictable and they can't finish it in 2.5 minutes anymore. "Destiny players actually play Destiny" challenge at its finest.
I could be misremembering, but isn’t this kinda how the strike in the Infinite Forest worked? I thought that some of the earlier sections before we reach Simulated Mercury were randomized, but that might be a different Mercury activity I’m thinking of.
Pve content needs to be more unpredictable everytime you play, which is what they are trying to do but they need to really focus on it
I really don't understand why they just keep pumping new bland modes like why we need 5 nodes of content in Episodes? Mode 1: short and full versions, Mode 2: short and full versions and then the Normal/Hard exotic mission. It would be way better if they just focused in one complete, repeatable, fun and rewarding mode. Also I hate how they are just making 1 hour long modes with no rewards worth doing them lmao
I find it a bit frustrating that Bungie is focusing on an update to PvP soon instead of actually good changes to the literal main side of the game, that being the PvE.

Because PvE has updates near constantly where PvP gets touched every 6 or so months with a major revamp. PvE literally just got an entire new Onslaught mode, the original Onslaught mode added in as a Vanguard playlist, 2 revamped strikes, 3 new battlegrounds, Tomb of Elders and Kell’s Vengeance as a harder version, a new strike Liminality, an entire new mode in Overthrow on Pale Heart, Breach Executables, the other Echoes activity who’s name is eluding me at the moment, an entire revamp to modifiers this episode, etc. PvE gets updated and changed constantly, PvP gets updated and then left behind for a long time and then completely changed again every year it feels like. PvE’s main problem is just that it’s constantly getting new stuff that’s removed, but even that seems to be changing in Frontiers looking like older activities are coming to The Portal like The Coil. I’d also not be surprised if Tomb of Elders sticks around seeing how much work was obviously put into it and rebuilding its UI interface and everything. The biggest problem, and they’re thankfully addressing this with The Portal, is that PvE is spread out across way too many activities and areas that you can’t just be launched into an activity. I had completely forgotten Nightmare Hunts were different than Altars of Summoning until Bento Tokens made me run an actual Nightmare Hunt.

The most fun i had with the strike playlist was the time guardian games gave us matchmade master content. Having that difficulty spike forcing buildcrafting and proper engagement made the game feel alive. And with the new addition of banes, i think theres a good foundation to make a fun pve playlist. Another issue i have is with the rotation of nightfall loot. Forcing us to wait weeks and months to see loot kills any excitement for the playlist. Regular vanguard engrams drop like candy and provide next to nothing of value. Pathfinder is interesting but doesnt provide enough uniue rewards. There just needs to be an overhaul of the whole loot system to allow us to earn rewards for our play time. Something the current system is designed to specifically avoid.
? Might? There are 2 problems, imo, 1. We've run them and things like them 10k times. Technically, it's not itself the biggest issue. . . . . If problem 2 didn't exist. 2. They are not rewarding enough, and there is not a real reason to keep playing them whenever you do finally get the reward you want. Why do strikes when nightfalls are more rewarding? Why do GMs when you've already gotten the loot you wanted? It only happens to me towards the end of the season nowadays that i actually might need the resources to get better stat gear i want but generally don't need. There's nothing really incentivizing about the same gun with a couple different perks on it anymore. Honestly the last gun i hardcore chased was the new lever action from echoes. Got all of 45 minutes of sleep that night after farming it before i had to go to work. But that was more of an aesthetic thing thing if I'm honest. And that it had yhe advantage of a scope.
Bro don't be tame with the title is not "might", they need to do something with GM loot, it is trash tier. Can anyone care to explain as to why Tinasha's Mastery was no part of the GM loot? This was locked behind a dying PVP playlist that not even PVP mains like to play. Bungie needs to take their head out of their rear 🙄

Pathfinder is a step in the right direction it gives alot of bright dust just for grinding gms
I feel like even content that's supposed to have variance - like onslaught - has way too much repeativeness. Think about onslaught: sure the bonus objectives, bosses, and enemy faction is different but there is so much that's static. Every enemy spawn in always the same, the same faction for the entire 50 waves, even the encounters don't change every 10 wave sets - if you get abominations and screebs on wave 5 you will get abominations and screebs on waves 15, 25, 35, and 45. I need more variance with my variance.
Pathfinder nodes factor into this as well. The way Pathfinder is built you beeline down the path of least resistance 100% of the time, and extra nodes didn't grant enough XP to go grab them intentionally. The system would be better if you got stacking rewards for additional nodes, and special rewards for filling out an entire card (think emblems, shells, and armor here). Additional full cards could grant a slate of engrams for focusing (across all ritual vendors, so you can get some weapons from rituals you don't play without waiting for Xur), stacking bright dust, or high-stat vendor armor with a chance for an artifice slot. The main issue with the Vanguard Ops playlist is how stale it is, but it also needs significant help on the rewards side. Making it more difficult did very little to stop people from running crazy times. Maybe we could add things like the Malfeasance version of Corrupted to the list every once in awhile?
Pathfinder might be one of the worst additions to this game, man. 🤦♂️ there are benefits like xp and bright dust, but whenever you're just trying to get pinnacle gear and bounce, it is one of the most annoying things ever.
